This is the first post on the Maureen Avis blog.

I have been writing quietly for a long time. The novels come out slowly and deliberately — The Mayfly Mutiny is the first, and there are two more behind it. But there is always more thinking happening than the books contain, and this is where some of that thinking will go.

Expect posts about the craft of writing, the strange business of publishing in the present moment, and the role that artificial intelligence is starting to play in how stories are made. I have opinions about all of it.
